United We are More!

After 14 months of prayer, planning, and preparation, Nativity of Our Lord (NOL) and St. Elizabeth Ann Seton (SEAS) in Kenner, LA have come together as one parish. No longer two, but one. It’s a marriage which has been challenging, but brings with it so  any blessings, many of which we don’t even know about yet. And our new name for our new parish (Divine Mercy) means God is asking us, sending us, and empowering us to proclaim the riches of his Mercy in Jesus Christ. What a mission! What a privilege! What a challenge! And we get to do it together! Unidos somos más. United we are more.

Y podemos hacerlo juntos! Unidos somos más. United we are more.

Relay for Life A Great Success

The 10th Annual, 10th Anniversary American Cancer Society Relay for Life in the Archdiocese of New Orleans was held 9pm Friday, July 9, 2009 through 6am Saturday, July 10, 2009 at Brother Martin High School. This Relay for Life is the only all CYO (Catholic Youth Organization), all-Catholic Relay for Life in the country. The Divine Mercy Parish CYO participated this year, the first year under our new parish name. Each year a mass is celebrated at midnight in honor of those who have survived their battle with cancer, and in memory of those we have lost from cancer. 10 years after the inception of this event, the event has raised over $150,000 to benefit cancer research. This year, Divine Mercy Parish alone raised just over $1,600. The CYO wishes to extend a huge thanks to the Divine Mercy Parish family for your prayers and support.

Lighthouse Catholic Media

Over the past months, parishioners at the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton (SEAS) site may have noticed a sizable display case near one of the rear church doors.  If you have not ventured to see what this may be, we encourage you to do so. This display showcases professionally recorded presentations from leading Catholic clergy, theologians, and lay speakers on high-quality audio CDs through LighthouseCatholicMedia.com.
